Our Mission
Our mission is to save as many dogs off the streets as well as dogs on euthanasia lists at shelters across Texas. We spay and neuter all dogs in hopes of reducing the number of unwanted dogs in our state. Our goal is to find them homes full of love and compassion.
443 Furever Homes in 2025
WUWF is proud to announce that 443 dogs found their forever homes in 2024! That is a total of 874 dogs in the last two years. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.

We received a call from a police officer this morning. She is working at a Sam’s Club in East Houston. There is a Shar Pei Mix that has been dumped there. She has some mange on her back and and is not in great shape:(. This poor girl appears to have had more than one little. Probably used for breeding.
She is timid, walking with her little tail between her legs😢💔. She is scared and exhausted. She looks like she has just given up. It’s heartbreaking.
We would love to help her. We would need to raise some funds. If we can raise boarding for a few weeks, we could then move her to our facility when one of the dogs leaves on transport.
Please help us raise the funds. We don’t want to leave her there and the officer said she would need to call Barc if we can’t help.

Thank you to the Houston SPCA! Patrick reached out to us to offer lots of dog food and treats. We packed up a trailer and suv with all these goodies for our facility and to share with foster.

Snowflake is a 1-year-old pit bull mix with the sweetest personality and the cutest ears. She’s medium-sized, full of love, and ready to find a forever home.
This playful and energetic girl loves to have fun but is just as happy curling up for cuddles after playtime. She does great with kids and cats, and would love to have another doggy friend to play with!
Snowflake is crate trained and already knows how to sit for treats. She loves to play with toys and is great at defluffing! Snowflake would be the perfect companion for an active family or someone looking for a loyal best friend.

We DESPERATELY need a foster for Pepper!! PLEASE consider fostering!! A week, two weeks… ANY amount of time would save poor her life. She is the sweetest, happiest dog, with a very loving disposition. She is good with other dogs and kids.
Pepper is living on some property out in Huntsville, Tx. She gets attacked by a dog on the other property that the owner lets roam around. Please help us, help her.
