The Foster Process
What does it mean to foster?
A foster is a loving, caring, responsible individual that can provide safety, shelter, food, play, activity, and love to a dog temporarily.
How long does fostering last?
Typically until adoption, which could be days, months, or years (but rare!)
What do fosters have to pay for?
Nothing, really! WUWF can provide food, bowls, and some starter supplies. If the foster chooses to buy toys and treats, that would be fine. WUWF also pays for ALL medical care for the dog, including surgery and routine meds or check ups.
Who makes a good foster candidate?
Animal lovers with a good attitude, communication skills, and patience.
What are the limitations?
Fosters must be 21 years of age or older and complete a foster application.
